Wang Baohai
Prof. Wang Baohai has
dedicated 43 years to the survey of insect resources and the research
on the management of harmful organisms in agriculture and animal
husbandry in the Tibet Autonomous Region. He has authored a total of
156 research papers, including 12 published in SCI-indexed journals,
and has published 19 monographs, either solely or in collaboration.
Among these, one monograph was recognized as a significant
contemporary scientific and technological work at the national level,
another was included in the national key book publication plan, and
four received first prizes at the provincial or Western ten provinces
and regions level. He has filed for eight invention patents. Prof.
Wang Baohai has been honored with three national awards, which
include two first prizes and one second prize, and has received eight
first prizes in Tibet's scientific and technological progress awards,
comprising six first prizes, one second prize, and one fourth prize,
in addition to a total of 32 second prizes and other accolades. The
economic benefits generated from his work amount to over 20 billion
yuan. He has been distinguished as a national expert with outstanding
contributions and is a recipient of the special government allowance
from the State Council. Furthermore, he has been conferred with the
China Agriculture Elite Award, the He Liang He Li Innovation Award,
the Tibet Outstanding Contribution Award, and other prestigious
honors.
Major
scientific achievements:
- He
spearheaded the entomological survey and research in Tibet,
substantially elucidating the insect species resources of the region
and achieving significant theoretical breakthroughs. This work has
been recognized with a second-class National Science and Technology
Progress Award and a fourth-class National Natural Science Award.
- He
has led and successfully completed three major plant protection
scientific and technological projects on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau,
garnering one second-class National Science and Technology Progress
Award and six first-class Tibet Science and Technology Progress
Awards:
- Research
on the disaster mechanisms and green control technologies for pests
affecting highland barley and forage grasses on the Qinghai-Tibet
Plateau, which has been recognized with four first-class Tibet
Science and Technology Progress Awards and one second-class
National Science and Technology Progress Award.
- He
led the major scientific and technological project "Study on
the Mechanisms of Locoweed Disaster and Toxicity, Establishment and
Application of Green Control and Utilization Technology System"
across the grasslands of nine provinces and regions in Western
China, earning one first-class Tibet Autonomous Region Science and
Technology Progress Award.
- Conducted
research on the Disaster Mechanism and Key Green Control
Technologies of Forest Pests in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, for
which one first-class Tibet Autonomous Region Science and
Technology Progress Award was conferred.
- Emphasized
the development of a professional team to foster industry
advancement and actively facilitated the dissemination of scientific
achievements to bolster the income of farmers and herders.
