Wang Quanjie

Prof. Wang Quanjie is a doctoral tutor at Yantai University in mainland China, he is one of the young and middle-aged experts that have national outstanding contributions. Prof. Wang Quanjie is also the director of the National Tanning Technology Research and Promotion Center, executive director of the China Leather Association.

Prof. Wang Quanjie was initially a leather professional teacher at the Northwest Institute of Light Industry, hired in 1983 to Yantai leather enterprises, he is committed to the research of tannery engineering technology in the production of the first line. The research results have been nationally popularized and applied, has made a significant contribution to China's tannery industry clean technology development.

Prof. Wang Quanjie undertook national research projects and national 863 project for four times, he made 32 scientific research achievements, authorized 21 invention patents, won the first prize of national scientific and technological progress 1, the first prize of provincial and ministerial scientific and technological progress 4, provincial and ministerial scientific and technological progress second and third prizes. In 2014 he was awarded the title of the national outstanding scientific and technological workers. In 2020 he was awarded the title of China leather industry science and technology pioneer.

Major scientific achievements:

1. Innovative technologies for pig leather production:

• Replacement of the traditional lime-sodium sulfide hair destroying and dehairing expansion process with the enzyme-alkali combination method of dehairing expansion technology.
• Development of a chromium-reduced tanning process for dissected white wet hides with synergistic pretreatment with aluminum salts and resins, and established a molecular mechanism for the limited straightening and shaping of collagen fibers and selective hydrolysis to eliminate site differences.
• Using the principle of diffuse reflection of light on the rough surface, the research and development of large-area optical patching method as a representative of the modern finishing technology, so that the finishing process to improve the production efficiency of 10 times, the finished product of the leather on average to improve the 1/2 grade, an effective solution to the problem of the apparent quality of the leather.
• Replacing one-time saponification degreasing with multi-process deep emulsification degreasing in electrolyte solution increased the fat removal rate of the inner layer of skin fibers by a factor of two, laying the foundation for the penetration of chemical materials in subsequent processes.

2. High-performance automotive interior leather production technology & High elasticity garment leather production technology.
3. It has developed a series of processes such as the technology of controlled hydrolysis of tannery waste, the technology of removing chromium salts from leather proteins, and the technology of preparing surfactants from proteins.
