Wang Xingzhu

Professor Wang Xingzhu, born in July 1974, male, professor and doctoral/master's supervisor. He is a nationally recruited expert, a leading talent in scientific and technological innovation in Hunan Province, and a recipient of the Outstanding Young Scientist Fund in Hunan Province. He studied at Wuhan University from 1993 to 1997 and obtained a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Hong Kong Baptist University from 2006 to 2009. After graduation, he pursued postdoctoral research at the University of Cambridge.

From 2011 to 2017, he served as a researcher fellow /senior researcher fellow at the National University of Singapore. In 2018, he returned to China and began working at the Southern University of Science and Technology. Currently, he is a chair professor at University of South China, serving as the executive deputy director of the National Environmental Protection Key Laboratory for Decommissioning and Ecological Restoration of Nuclear Facilities, the Director of the Hunan Provincial Photovoltaic and Photovoltaic Integration Research Engineering Center, and the director of the academic committee of the institute, director leader of the new energy team.

He has been engaged in research on optoelectronic materials/new energy materials and devices for a long time and has made a series of original research achievements in the field of solar cell materials and electronic devices. His research achievements have won the second prize of the National Natural Science Award and the first prize of the Outstanding Achievement in Natural Science Award of the Ministry of Education. He has led one key research and development program of the Ministry of Science and Technology, four national natural science foundation projects, and eight scientific and technological projects in Guangdong Province and Shenzhen City, with research funding exceeding 90 million yuan.

He has published over 150 academic papers in international professional journals such as Science, Nature Materials, J. Am. Chem. Soc., Adv. Mater., Chem. Sci., ACS Energy Letters., Adv. Engy. Mater., etc., which have been cited by peers over 4100 times. He has applied for more than 56 invention and utility model patents, and obtained 18 national patents, with multiple technologies achieving industrialization. He has delivered over 50 oral presentations at international and domestic academic conferences and serves as an editorial board member of seven domestic and international journals, including Nano-Micro Letters, DeCarbon, Model Chemistry, Journal of University of South China, and Modern Chemical Industry and so one.
